A Survey Shows That Quality of Life Now a Top Priority for Businesses
Here at Cloudbooking we’ve strongly advocated quality of life for employees. We encourage businesses to increase employee experience and satisfaction. This is central to higher workplace productivity for companies and a new survey shows we’re not alone.
The Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services survey demonstrates that SME leaders in seven countries believe that quality of life is a major strength in attraction, competitiveness, and performance of employees. For the poll, 4,800 leaders of small and medium-sized enterprises with 10 to 100 employees were asked about quality of life at work.
The Stats
The key findings were overwhelming. 91% thought that improved quality of life ensures a better work climate, whilst 86% thought it leads to higher workplace productivity. To add to this, 76% thought that improved quality of life boosts their attraction as an employer. With 70% believing it leads to higher revenue.
What is so refreshing about this is that it shows that low-cost improvements do have a real impact on SMEs performance. SMEs leaders who have introduced positive measures that enhance quality of life reported sizeable improvements across the board. The survey shows 84% believe that maintaining a work-life balance was vital. 92% thought that improving comfort and safety in the workplace will improve business competitiveness.
For a long time, we’ve said that retaining talent is the key to success. If you give employees the opportunity to work flexibly, and technology is in place to enable them to do so. It’s a win-win for all involved. Employers have been given a clear message that quality of life is vitally important to employees. Facilities managers, senior HR staff and those who run organizations need to get together to ensure they are doing everything they can to improve the well-being of those who work for them.
Which proves, even though business is about competition, it also has to be about collaboration.
