Cloudbooking support’s Boehringer Ingelheim’s future of work goals with flexible workplace scheduling solutions.

The following case study details how Boehringer Ingelheim was able to leverage Cloudbooking’s powerful technology to manage a new way of working in the post COVID era whilst also enhancing their internal real estate and bringing productivity and efficiency to their workforce.

Boehringer Ingelheim, founded in 1885 and family-owned ever since, is one of the world’s leading research-driven pharmaceutical companies. More than 52,000 employees serve over 130 markets in the three business areas, Human Pharma, Animal Health, and Biopharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing.

Cloudbooking is now Boehringer Ingelheim’s official supplier of global workspace management solutions. An epic global rollout, Cloudbooking successfully deployed desk booking and car parking management services to 36 sites in a multi-stage project deployment.

Boehringer Ingelheim’s workplace management needs evolved and required greater real estate agility. By harnessing the power of Cloudbooking’s frictionless workplace technologies, Boehringer Ingelheim has empowered employees to work and collaborate flexibly whilst managing their internal real estate more efficiently.

This multi-resource deployment includes Desks, Parking, SSO, Azure Active Directory, QR Codes and 3D interactive digital floorplans with booking portals available in American English, German, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

Cloudbooking solutions have been deployed in offices in several areas across the globe, spanning regions from Europe, Asia Pacific North, and Latin America.

The Challenge

As Boehringer Ingelheim’s chosen supplier for intelligent workspace technologies to power new ways of working post-covid, it was necessary for Cloudbooking to deploy a range of workspace management solutions at speed. Cloudbooking got to work, launching desk management with frictionless QR booking technology and parking management so that the Boehringer Ingelheim could manage its vast global real estate at scale, with flexibility and speed.

  • Immediate COVID-Safe Return to Work Plan: Boehringer Ingelheim lacked options for deploying or managing future-of-work solutions in a post-COVID era
  • Real Time Data Insights: Limited real-time data insights on how employees were currently using internal office space and no accurate data on desk optimisation or utilisation
  • Strategy Enablement: No strategy or digital workplace solution in place would enable the business to maximise real estate and consolidate where possible
  • Smart Working Principles: An aspiration to deploy a Smart Working Policy across the business but lacked the tools to do so effectively
  • Capacity Planning and Advanced Booking: A clear view of desk space requirements and enable employees to advance book before visiting the office, ensuring safe capacity limits

The Initial Problems for Boehringer Ingelheim

  • Lack of Data and Insights: No data and insights to inform real estate decisions and new way of working strategy
